O gibão-de-couro (Hirundinea ferruginea), também conhecido como birro e joão-pires, é uma ave passeriforme da família Tyrannidae, fotografado em Ouro Preto, nas cantarias e torres da igreja de Santa Efigenia.

Taxonomy: Todus [] ferruginea J. F. Gmelin, 1788, Cayenne.
Closely allied to Neopipo and Pyrrhomyias. Four subspecies recognized.

sclateri Reinhardt, 1870 - W Venezuela and S on E slope of E Andes from Colombia to SE Peru (S to Cuzco).
ferruginea (J. F. Gmelin, 1788) - Disjunctly in extreme E Colombia (R Vaupes), NW Brazil (NW Amazonas), SE Venezuela (Bolívar), SW Guyana and French Guiana.
pallidior Hartert & Goodson, 1917 - N & E Bolivia, W Paraguay and NW Argentina (S to La Rioja and Córdoba).
bellicosa (Vieillot, 1819) - S & E Brazil, E Paraguay, NE Argentina (Misiones) and Uruguay.
